Opening markets up to competition constitutes a major step in the development of the European energy market. Europe, however, is facing new structural challenges linked to its energy dependence. In this context, Eurogroup has undertaken a forward looking study based on some forty interviews held in the first half of 2006 with representatives of the principal stakeholders in the gas and electricity sectors in Europe.
